Pearl of Africa Child Care Ltd is a small UK charity with no paid staff or office space.

All money raise in the UK goes directly to those who need our support in line with an agreed budget developed together with our partners in Uganda – The Molly and Paul Child Care Foundation.

We provide the largest source of funds to the Molly and Paul Foundation and we work in partnership to help them realise their vision of

– Making education accessible in Uganda
– Raising levels of achievement through financially self-sustaining schools that include places for poor and disadvantaged children
– Innovate and lead best practises for Safeguarding in Ugandan schools

Pearl of Africa Child Care is governed by a small, committed group of trustees. We are committed to upholding best practise in our governance of the charity and welcome the opportunity to speak to more likeminded individuals. For more information about joining the board of trustees please get in touch.

Robin Whaite

I joined the trustee board in 2008 and provide governance oversight and support to the incredible team of UK trustees and volunteers who are the heart and soul of this charity.

Working together with our charitable partners The Molly and Paul Foundation in Uganda I am always inspired by the enthusiasm, innovation, and tenacity of our friends to adapt to meet the needs of the pupils and families who benefit from the opportunities provided through MPCCF.

I first saw the choir perform in 2007, and the next year I volunteered as part of the North West Tour Committee. Even all these years later I am still blown away when I hear the choir sing.

As a trustee, I am passionate about ensuring the thousands of children and youth in the schools your donation support have access to education, clean water, health care and opportunities to thrive.

I became involved with the choir as a volunteer during their 2014 tour, shortly after I retired. From the first time I met them they touched my heart, and within a couple of years I joined the PoACC trustees to do more.

My passion revolves around helping to organise the choir's visits to the uk, and also travelling to Uganda to work alongside the Molly and Paul Childcare Foundation. Our needs are many, but with your support we can continue to make a difference to the many children who depend on us for a better future.

I am proud to be on the trustee board for this fantastic charity! What inspired me to volunteer was the dedication and energy the Pearl of Africa Children's Choir display when they tour the UK in order to raise funds for their friends back home.

I have immersed myself into this charity, volunteering during the tour, fundraising and visiting Uganda and as a result that has opened many doors to help these wonderful people.

As a nurse, I worked in refugee camps in Sudan and draw upon that experience to focus my attention on the rural clinic in Kamuzinda supporting Primary Health Care and the diagnosis of malaria, HIV, and other diseases endemic to the region.

In the UK I work in the area of Contraception and Sexual Health and my vision is for the clinic in Kamuzinda to be an outlet for Reproductive Health linking to a policy for Comprehensive Relationships and Sex Education in the Molly and Paul schools.

The enthusiasm and positivity the choir brings is clear for all to see, and I started volunteering because I wanted to do something to help the amazing young people who bring so much joy to everyone they meet.

I have visited the schools and homes of the children in Uganda and seen firsthand how a little bit of time, attention, love, and money can make all the difference. Together with your support, we are improving the lives of so many children in Uganda. Thank You
